Snow day and THE VISITOR

Today was a snow day, for those of you that don't know, that means: No school! This normally would be nice for me, if it meant getting to sleep in, but the kids were up at normal time, which meant, so was I. By 7:15, we were all downstairs eating breakfast. The snow is pretty and I love watching it come down, but it also means the kids want to play in it. Last winter, I posted this post about getting dressed for the snow. The time frames are about the same as last year. It still takes 20 minutes to get each one dressed, only now, I did it for 3 instead of 2. Also, this year, Spencer stayed out for 2 hours the first time, Carter for about 10 minutes (then back out a second time for about 30 minutes) and Miana was out for a full 5 minutes. Spencer put Miana on the sled and pulled her on the sidewalk, but she didn't really like it very much, but he was sweet to take care of her!

She seemed to like the snow for a few minutes.

All snow playing ends the same way:
After lunch, Dave went into the dining room to continue working and this is what he said, "Um, we have a bird in the house." Huh? We are still not sure how it got in, but here it is, our Snow Day Visitor. Here it is under the dining room table, and on the chain for the light in the kitchen.

You forgot to mention Spencer's severe snow day head injury! Is he doing okay? No memory loss?

Miana looks so cute in her hat and snow clothes! Too funny there was a bird in your house.

That is pretty funny about the bird, hopefully it finally got out of the house! The kids looked like they were having fun in the snow! Jennifer

What head injury??? Are you trying to hide accidents from your worrying mother???

Spencer was sledding and the hill he was on stops abruptly at the bottom (it's pretty steep, an "L" shape) and the front of his sled hit the ground and he flipped over right onto his head. He had a severe head ache the rest of the day and started to feel like he needed to throw up about 2 hours after it happened. I gave him some Advil and he felt much better.
