Stuck!

I heard crying, came in and found her like this:

Wiped out!

I can not describe to you just how fast this happened. He said something to me, walked around the corner, sat down on the floor and fell asleep. There was no time inbetween, he laid down and was out! The funny part is that he was laying on the couch, got up and went into the front hallway to sleep on the floor.

Bounteous Harvest

Over the past few weeks I have harvested about 30-40 pea pods and my first broccoli! I have never really had a successful garden (we grew 2 pumpkins 2 years ago) I let my broccoli go too long so it was bitter, but now I know when to harvest it. The peas are about down, but the kids loved them, Spencer even ate some! My tomatoes are the next to come in, I have about 10 on the plants now (still very green) and then my cucumbers will be ready, they are tiny but there are about 15 of them started. In the next month or so, I could get several more broccoli heads. Then, hopefully in the fall I will be able to harvest some pumpkins, but they are just barely beginning to flower, so I don't know how many I will get. It's been exciting and fun to watch it all grow...

Single-handedly keeping Oscar-Mayer in business

From top to bottom, Oscar-Mayer Luncheables Jr. for Miana, Oscar-Mayer Luncheables (with drinks) because they were on sale, Oscar-Mayer Deli Creations for me, and in the drawer at the bottom, from left to right: Oscar-Mayer luncheables (no drinks) for the boys, and Oscar-Mayer lunch meat (Ham and under it, Turkey), also there are more Deli Creations in the bottom... Oscar-Mayer was on sale and since we buy these things anyways, I stocked up!

Baby Proofing

Ever since Baby started climbing, we've been putting the chairs up on the table so she can't climb up on the table. We can't just push them in, she pulls them out. We also keep the trash can up there because she opens that and pulls out all sorts of things and then either tries to eat them or she takes them into the other room and drops them all over the place. Her favorite things seem to be banana peels... I don't know why. Anyway, we pull down chairs when we need them and put them back up when we're done. One day, I had to get kids off to school and was in a hurry after lunch so I never put the chairs back on the table (there are 3, 2 of them were still on the table, one was down.) We came home and I was in doing some laundry and Baby was walking around exploring, as usual. When I came into the kitchen this is what I saw:

(PS- No babies were harmed in the taking of this picture)
She was just in playing with the light. I guess by making it safe, I really made it far more dangerous... :( NOTE: Baby Proofing only works if the parents are idiot proof...

Back Postings...

I am really behind on my posts so I will be posting as much as possible today... Sorry....

Happy Father's Day, you hit a deer.

Yes, Dave hit a deer on Father's Day. So sad for him, but luckily, he left, flew to CA and I got to take care of it. We sat FOREVER yesterday with kids running all over the office waiting for them to type up the estimate/order parts, whatever they were doing. I just know that it took them all of 5 minutes to look at the car and we sat in the office for another 55 minutes. He told me I can drop it off on Monday next week, it should only take 3 days to fix. So, very nice Father's Day to you!

To the tune of the 12 days of Christmas (be creative if singing, it will fit if you cheat a bit)

On the week starting on Father's Day, the following happened to me:

12-hundred dollars in damages, but that includes a rental car...
11 children exposed...
10 minutes left before I go crazy...
9 loads of laundry...
8 luncheables eaten...
7 doses of antibiotics each day...
6-ty minutes waiting for an estimate...
5-hundred dollar deductible...
4 trips to giant...
3 perscriptions filled...
2 trips to the doctor...
and a class party where we exposed all of Kindergarten!

Yes, Spencer Miana and I have strep throat. We went to a class party, not knowing we were that sick (I had a sore throat but thought it was just irritated from drainage, I didn't know Spencer and Miana had it)... I then took my friend's daughter home to my house and she took Spencer home to hers... Yeah, an even exchange, I exposed the daughter and Spencer exposed the rest of the family (total of 4 kids), later that evening another neighbor came over and spent several hours here, so I exposed him, but not to worry, Spencer went to his house the next day and exposed the rest of the kids (total of 4 kids)... so 4+4+my 3= 11 kids exposed in a 2 day period... so nice. Also, I've been dealing with the car issue, so fun...

Woohoo!!

I just found out that Jaclyn is coming to spend the whole weekend with me!! No one ever comes to stay with us, so I am soooo excited! I am picking her up in the middle of the night on Friday, then we are spending the whole day together for a girls day out (with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law) on Saturday, then on Sunday we're off to stake conference and then she's going to babysit for me that night so I can go to a church thing... it's going to be awesome!! I'm super excited. So, because she's coming, I couldn't wait to see if my throat gets better or worse, I needed to get on some antibiotics... so I went to the doctor today, he didn't even test for strep, he just gave me some antibiotics, he said if it's bacterial that will take care of it, if it's viral, it will do nothing, but we'd have to wait that out anyway, so no harm done. Anyway, the best part is that J is spending time with me at the end of the summer too... 2 times with her at my very own house! Yay J!

What do you delirium?

I'm sick. Achy muscles, chills/cold sweats/hot flashes, sore throat, the works. Apparently, when I am sick, I go into a half delirious state. In this state, I get a song stuck in my head, I dream about, wake up to the words going through my head. I can't remember other times, but since I am mid-illness, I can tell you what it is this time. A song from a kids' TV show - Phineas and Ferb, the Bettys Song. It's driving me crazy. Wait! Why am I blogging at 1:26am? Because I'm waiting for a sinus rinse to cool down enough to use, so I can stop the drainage down the back of my throat, then I have to wait a few minutes, then I can take the liquid sore throat Tylenol (my fav for sore throats!) Then I need to take some cold bottled water upstairs so I can drink all night... So fun!!

Carter's preschool picnic, Miana's fun day at the park

Snaggletooth

Spencer has been waiting and waiting and waiting for his top middle tooth to fall out (the one on my left). He already lost the tooth next to it and the adult tooth is already out of the gums. His tooth just will not fall out. Last week, we noticed that the other center tooth was loose. Then on Friday night, Spencer came and sat on my lap and said, "Mom, look! My tooth is really loose." He then touched it, pushing it forward and it popped out, landing on my arm. I was excited that he finally had lost that left tooth. Then I looked up and saw that no, he hadn't. He lost the top right tooth. Now he has a tooth in the middle of him mouth, which is slanted because the adult tooth is pushing it out. He looks like he has one pointy tooth right in the middle. So, I decided that it is okay, for now, to call him "snaggletooth." If he doesn't lose that other tooth soon, we may be having some assistance from the dentist (we already have an appointment in 2 weeks).

From Miana, with Love

Dear Friends,
I love to play with water. I have found that in all of the bathrooms, Mommy keeps water in a big white bowl. Usually the water is clear, but sometimes it is yellow. I love to play in that water. The other day my Mom saw me going in the bathroom and our eyes met. I started to run and I had to practically dive into the water to get my hand in before she got there, but I did it and then I started to laugh. The best part about playing in that big bowl of water is that when Mom tells me to stop, she always lets me play in sink and she puts this slippery stuff on my hands and arms. That's almost more fun than playing in the big white bowl because Mommy plays with me. Mommy walks around making sure the big white bowl is covered, but when we were at the hotel, I figure out that I can take that lid off. So, when I got home, I tried to lift the lid up, it was hard work, but I did it. Mommy makes me laugh when she comes running into the bathroom yelling, "Nooooo!" Unfortunately, Daddy decided to do something with his screwdriver that made it so I can't just push the door to the bathroom open anymore. So, now I have been looking for things to get me dirty so Mommy will let me play in the sink some more. If you have any ideas for ways to get dirty, let me know. I really love playing in water.
With Love, Miana

Florida Days 4 and 5: The Henry Family, and Florida Day 6: Home Again

Sorry it has taken me so long to post about the last few full days of our trip to Florida. I've been really busy. Anyway, on Saturday, May 24, we drove to a tiny island on the gulf side of Florida, called Pine Island. Not the big Pine Island on the southern side, but the tiny one near Weeki Wachee, in Spring Hill, Florida. Okay, anyway, we went to this island that had a beach and a playground and met up with some friends of ours that just moved to Florida last Fall. So, we spent the morning at the beach with the Henry family, well, at least part of the family. We had a lovely morning sitting on the beach, watching the kids, and talking. In fact, we talked so much that I forgot to take pictures. Then we went back to the hotel, took naps and then went swimming in the hotel pool and then had dinner.
The next day we drove up north again, this time to Lecanto, Florida to go to church with the Henrys. We then went to their house for lunch and stayed all afternoon. It was a great day, and again, I forgot to take pictures... :( Maybe next time I see them I will remember to take pictures of my really good friends. We left there, packed up and had dinner, and went to bed.

Miana in her bedroom at the hotel.

Then on Monday, May 26th, we woke up at 3:30am, got packed up and in the car by 4am, to get to the airport for our 6am flight. We landed at 8:30, got our stuff, fought with the cab driver, went grocery shopping, and were home at 10:30am. We then left the house at 11:30 to go to a little girl's birthday party. We left the party, went home and everyone had naps... We were exhausted, but it was a nice day... And we were glad to be home!
